The project is located in a stylish residential suburb of northern Athens, in an area of low-rise, low-density building emerged in a mainly pine vegetation.
The proposed design exploits the triangular shape of the plot and follows its pronounced natural slope, with a height difference of 5-8m from the northern to the southern road.
The building is composed of basement, ground and first floor, with a half second basement housing a 3-car garage in the lower part of the site, all level being served by a central elevator .
The main entrance placed to the north, at the high level of the plot, opens on a double height central living room flanked by an office on one hand, and a dinning room and kitchen facilities on the other. An open one-ramp stair leads to the upper floor, which consists of a group of bedrooms with their auxiliary spaces on one side and the master bedroom on the other. These two parts are connected by a corridor with views to the living room below and is topped by a one-slope roof. The first basement is allocated to different areas of ancillary uses while the southern part, which opens to a generous swimming pool and the pine forest in front, houses a guest room, a playroom and health facilities such as a sauna, massage room and gym.
The southern side of the building, which offers the main view, is opened to the environment through large glassed surfaces, while on the other elevations plastered walls dominate.
An important factor of the design was the relation of the building with its immediate surroundings; terraces in direct contact with indoor space were created at uneven levels, blurring the difference between the indoor and outdoor space. A series of stone supporting walls unifies the image of the compound from the lower southern road. Nevertheless another important part of the complex remained the free landscaped garden, due to the landscape architect team of Carol Hanikian & Anthony Skordilis
